It's starting to happen ... little pushes here and there and folks are rolling out all sorts of cool stuff for the iPhone. Though this doesn't quite shatter the game platform of the PSP you can get your
Qix on the iPhone if you are in the mood for a little retro gaming.

It's coming in bits and pieces - the story is falling into place. The pundits, jockeys and tech gurus are all thinking they have the square around this, but leave it to Jobs and Apple to have
something up the sleeve of inventiveness.
We have stated it here before in other words and again now - Apple will blow away most people with what they will end up delivering.
So ... patents. Patents are nearly always a bit vague and open ended in order to allow for wiggle room and to protect things still under development. When an application for a patent is filed it become public knowledge and as such often the diagrams and descriptions are fuzzy, simple or confusing as all get-out.
In the case of a recent patent application it becomes clear they will likely add download ability via iTunes as most of us have expected. What will they offer? Firmware updates, ringtones, wallpapers and of course music, videos and TV.
It is this person's belief you will also see games and widgets, widgets, widgets.

Anyone else think the iPhone could be the Sony PSP killer as well? I found it interesting that during the unveiling of the iPhone at MacWorld 2007 the market for cell phones was discussed and Steve Jobs made note of several markets:
- Digital Cameras
- MP3 players
- PC's
- Mobile Phones
and
I don't think this was an accident. Why mention gaming consoles if the iPhone is not destined to become one of these as well? All the other categories mentioned are covered by the iPhone - it has a built-in 2 Megapixel camera, is a fully functional iPod, carries desktop quality applications running on OS X and is obviously a phone.
I can play some stupid games on my iPod now, but what about the capabilities of the iPhone in landscape mode as a handheld game machine running on OS X?
Keep your eyes and ears open - this could be one of the things they intend to do!
The screen is gorgeous with 3.5 inches of high resolution (320 by 480 at 160 ppi) graphics with the same native graphics handling as OS X. This compare with the Sony PSP resolution of 480 by 272.
It is foreseeable that iTunes could carry downloadable games for the iPhone in addition to the obvious ringers they are certain to carry.
